Understanding Wallpaper: Packaging and Sizes
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Wallpaper comes in different
lengths and widths and, although it is usually priced by the single
roll, it is packaged either as double or triple rolls. People may find this packaging verses pricing hard to understand. However, wallpaper is packaged this way because double and triple rolls provide more usable wallpaper than single rolls. You will get more complete floor to ceiling strips from a double roll. In addition, extra wallpaper allows for a margin or error duing hanging, will help avoid the problem of finding the same dye lot or printing run when reordering to complete a project, or if the wallpaper on the wall has been damanged and needs repair. |
Wallpapers can be manufactured in different widths, but a standard single roll has between 27 1/2 and 29 square feet. Double rolls have 56 to 58 square feet. A double roll of wallpaper is 21" wide by 11 yards long. | |||||||||||

When ordering wallcoverings, you must order the number of single rolls that you will need. Remember, wallpaper comes packaged as a double roll, so you must order the number of single rolls that you will need but you must order in multiples of two only. If you order 4 single rolls, it will arrive packaged as 2 single rolls. |
